RAINDROPSS VAANAMAE YELLAI 2025
In celebration of Children’s Day, Raindropss Charity Foundation successfully organized its annual signature initiative – “Vaanamae Yellai”, a unique and inspiring project offering the first-ever flight experience for 30 less privileged children from Chennai to Tuticorin. In line with its commitment to inclusion, this year’s edition also proudly included a transgender and a visually challenged student, ensuring that every child, regardless of background or ability, deserves to dream and soar high. This edition was organized in association with Anandam, VGP Ulaga Tamil Sangam, and Vels Vidyalaya Group of Schools, aiming to create joyful and unforgettable experiences for deserving young minds. Hon’ble Minister for Social Welfare and Women Empowerment, P. Geetha Jeevan, travelled along with the children, interacting with them warmly and sharing words of motivation, joy, and encouragement. Joining her were Music Director and Goodwill Ambassador of Raindropss, A.R. Raihanah, Founder and Managing Trustee of Raindropss, Aravind Jayabal, VGP Group Chairman, Dr. V.G.P. Santhosam, Member of State Planning Commission, Dr. Sultan Ahmed Ismail, Anandam Founder and Managing Trustee, Bhageerathy Ramamoorthy, Organic Food Expert Manvasanai Menaka and members of Raindropss who made this journey memorable.
The children took their much-awaited flight from Chennai to Tuticorin, landing amidst cheers and excitement, where they were warmly welcomed by the Management, Staff, and Students of Vels Vidyalaya Group of Schools. From the airport, the team proceeded to Vels Vidyalaya, Ambasamudram, where a special celebration was hosted marking a joyful start to their adventure. Their itinerary included a scenic drive to Tenkasi, where they will stay overnight and enjoy a special dinner hosted at Border Rahmath Hotel. The following morning, the delegation met Thiru. Kamal Kishore IAS, District Collector of Tenkasi, at the Collector Office for a special meet and greet session. As part of their local exploration, the team visited Amar Seva Sangam, Courtallam Falls, and Thrill Park, Gundar Dam offering the children an unforgettable blend of learning, fun, and inspiration. The group returned to Chennai by Pothigai Express, carrying not just souvenirs but memories, confidence, and hope that will last a lifetime. Through Vaanamae Yellai, Raindropss continues to empower less privileged children to dream fearlessly, reinforcing the message that the sky is not the limit—it’s just the beginning.
