On World Food Day – RAINDROPSS Free Food Truck

On the occasion of World Food Day, Raindropss in association with Aasife Biriyani organized “Free Food Truck” in Chennai as a part of their “Virunthali – Feed the needy” project, a vision towards hunger free society. Raindropss Free Food Truck was flagged off by Music Director A.R.Raihanah mam, Dr V G Santhosam iyya, Chairman- VGP Groups and Aasife Ahmed sir, Managing Director of Aasife Biriyani, at Alandur. There on the truck took its route to Alandur, Ekkaduthangal, MGR Nagar, Saidapet to serve thousands of needy and homeless people in the city.

Serving the needy on the roadsides is not something new to Raindropss, we already have a project Virunthali – Feedy the needy, where we serve the needy people every week. We started Virunthali – feed the needy project, with a vision of creating a hunger free society. We wanted to name the project as ‘Virunthali’, as we need to treat the needy people starving for food on the roadside as our guests, feed them with a meal and conquer their hunger with love. To do something special and big on World Food Day, we wanted to serve large number of people through our Raindropss Free Food Truck and create awareness on chronic hunger. We recieved wonderful response and support for this noble initiative through various social media’s, Volunteers of Raindropss, DXC Technology and Students from Seers Girls Home, Vyasarpadi joined to help in serving the food to needy.

Isai Sangamam 2015 – In Aid of Educate a Child initiative

Raindropss had conducted a mega Musical evening at Kamarajar Arangam Chennai on 5th July 2015 in aid of their Educate a Child Project.The event has supported the education of 34 underprivileged children and scholarships were given.Great versatile artists like veteran music composer Gangai Amaren, Ilaiyaraaja’s daughter Bhavatharini, actor Karunakaran, actor Aarthi Ganeshkar and playback singer Kalpana Raghavendar,Al Rufian,Abhay Jodhpurkar,Georgina,Uthra UnniKrishnan,MLR Karthikeyan and Hip Hop Tamizha Adhi contributed and supported for the cause along with Shamshudeen’s Gentle Man orchestra.A.R.Raihannah,brand ambassador of Raindropss led the concert.Also,National-award winning child singer Uthara Unnikrishnan was honored by Raindropss

Raindropss – Kaaka Muttai Movie Screening for Under Privileged Kids

Team Raindropss took the less privileged children from SEERS Home (Socio Economic Education and Rehabilitation society) to watch Kakka Muttai film at Sathyam Cinemas. The film has portrayed the challenges faced by the less privileged children in their real life.Raindropss also fulfilled the wish of the kids and served them hot pizza’s at the end of the show.

“Virunthali” -Feed the Needy

On the successful 1st year completion of our Raindropss office inauguration, kicked started a new project #Raindropss “Virunthali – Feed the needy”.

The name Virunthali is a Tamil word mean Guest.The focus of this project is to feed the homeless people living in streets.Team Raindropss choose a spot and donate the food packets to the needy.

Initially,Raindropss have decided to provide food packets/Cloths to the less privileged, homeless, physically and mentally challenged people in the roadside every alternative weekends covering each area in and around Chennai.

The mission of this project is to make Chennai a hunger free city in the next few years.This project is executed with the help of donors and supporters of Raindropss.

Summer Kondattam – A day out with Kids from Home’s

Raindropss in association with VGP Universal Kingdom organized its 3rd edition of “Summer Kondattam -2015” with 100+ less privileged children from Seers Girls Home and Sevalaya, a day out to VGP Universal Kingdom on Sunday. Sathyabama University supported the event with the transportation for the kids and the entry passes were sponsored by VGP Universal Kingdom. Children enjoyed the various rides in the amusement park.Oscar Award winning music director, A.R.Rahman’s sister, Music director A.R.Raihanah, National Award Winner Actor Bobby SimHa, Dangamari Fame “Gana Viji”, VGP Universal Kingdom Chairman Dr. V.G.Santhosham and John yesudas, CEO – Gadgets World graced the occasion and celebrated the Easter day evening with the 100+ lovely kids from the Seers Girls Home and Sevalaya

Raindropss in association with EVP Amusement Park(EVP World) organized a Summer day out (கொண்டாட்டம்)-2013 with 800 underprivileged children and elderly people from various NGOs and Home’s on 31 March 2013 at EVP Amusement Theme Park.

At Diwali Kondattam, Raindropss celebrated Diwali with 275+ children with Musical Cracker on 27 Oct 2013, Sunday evening at Spencer Plaza. Light music was performed by “Udhaya Raagam” U.K.Murali. The evening began with the magic performance of National Award winner Arun Loganathan and leading playback singers T.L.Thaegarajan, MLR Karthikeyan, Velmurugan, Hariharasudhan, Deepika Thaegarajan, Aravind, Haritha, Georgina entertained the children. Sutta Kadhai movie crew, Divya Dharshini (DD), Actor Mahendran, Dr.Rajamani (Director – Astro Channel, Malaysia) and many more attended the celebration and greeted the children from the orphanages. The transportation for the children was organised by Parveen Travels, and Velammal International School also took part in this celebration. Dinner, gifts, and donations for the children’s costumes were presented on behalf of Raindropss.
